Google Maps is a web mapping service application provided by Google. It offers satellite imagery, street maps, and Street View perspectives and also as a route planner for traveling to distant places.
The
latest update of Google Maps, which is available to both android and
iOS devices, brings new features to application. It now allows users to
access maps even in offline mode. Now you can save maps for offline
access so that even when there is no reception available, you can access
the saved maps. This article will tell you exactly how to do that.
The procedure is almost identical for both iOS and Android devices.
- Make sure you have the latest update. If you are not on the latest version, update your Google Maps.
- After updating, launch the Google Maps app.
- Tap on the Profile button which is seen next to the search bar.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page.
- Tap the Offline Maps mode.
- Now select the map you want to save. You can save maps of large area and save up to 6 maps.
- If the area selected is too large, you will be asked to zoom in and save again.
- Another easier way is to type “OK Maps” ion the search box when looking at a map will also let you save that map for offline access.
